Development of Protocols and Tools to Assess Fish Populations and Habitats Using the SeaBED AUV

The Seabed AUV operated by PIFSC/CRED and NWFSC/FRAMD has been prolific in
gathering large quantities of concurrent optical imagery and multibeam data. Large scale analysis
of the imagery requires a better measure and understanding of the 3D morphology of the
seafloor. This proposal seeks to examine algorithmic methodologies that allow us to merge
multibeam data with the optical imagery so as to enhance our understanding of fish populations
and habitat using the Seabed AUV.
