Synthesis Activities Within the RUSALCA Program 2014-2015

Jacqueline M. Grebmeier, University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science (UMCES)

This proposal includes our planned Russian-American Long-term Census of the Arctic (RUSALCA) synthesis activities to prepare two synthesis manuscripts for publication in Oceanography on time-series evaluation of the RUSALCA04, 09 and 12 cruises in the context of previous (e.g. BERPAC joint US-Russian work) and ongoing sampling (e.g. Distributed Biological Observatory) in the study area. Data will be prepared for GIS analysis including data set comparison, visualizations using GIS software, statistical analyses using PRIMER software, as well as submission for the RUSALCA data archive, with appropriate metadata. We will work with our international partners to make the cruise-focused and synthesis manuscripts inclusive of our Russian collaborator activities.
