Abstract

NOAA’s Untrawlable Habitat Strategic Initiative (UHSI) is aimed at understanding the role of different platforms for conducting fisheries independent stock assessment. This proposal is aimed at working with members of the UHSI team to continue to provide navigation and imaging capabilities in support of these efforts. In particular we will participate on the first leg of the 2015 UHSI cruise aboard the R/V Weatherbird in late July and will deploy acoustic transponders for location and survey as well as work on issues related to camera calibration, data storage and archival, illumination correction, motion estimation and segmentation and overall image analysis.
